The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops, deployed under the Operation Amani Boni (OAB) framework to safeguard the LAPSSET road project, have successfully completed the construction of a water pan in Sarira village, Fafi Constituency, Garissa County. This initiative aims to ease the region’s longstanding water scarcity, significantly benefiting the local community.
For years, Sarira residents have faced severe water shortages, making daily life challenging. The newly built water pan will serve as a vital source of water for both household use and livestock, boosting livelihoods and enhancing resilience against drought.
During the groundbreaking ceremony, Major Julius Ngolesia encouraged community members to support KDF’s efforts and other national development projects. He emphasized that such initiatives go beyond security operations, playing a crucial role in fostering local development and improving quality of life.
Area Assistant Chief Mr. Ahmed Rabe expressed his gratitude, commending KDF’s efforts in addressing the community’s water needs. He, along with other local leaders, urged residents to support the LAPSSET road project, highlighting its potential to bring essential infrastructure, economic growth, and overall development to the region.
